The Lawrence County Commission cut the weather radar from the EMA budget. This radar is used by SkyWarn/ARES net control to coordinate the location of Storm Spotters. The radar is also used to give early warning to Emergency Services in the county. Call your Commissioner and ask them to restore funding for the radar.

Lawrence County SkyWarn/ARES is a group of Amateur Radio operators who volunteer their time, resources, and money to protect lives and property in times of emergencies.
